Furrget is in beta. It has had no outside security audit or certification yet, so this page only describes how the app and this site work today. The privacy notice lists exactly what each service receives.
Your meetings stay on your computer
- Recordings, transcripts, notes, minutes, templates, settings and the Ask chats you keep are in one folder:
~/Library/Application Support/Furrgeton a Mac,%LOCALAPPDATA%\Furrgeton Windows. - In this beta, Furrget has no account and no server of its own, and nothing syncs.
- The app sends no analytics and no crash reports.
- Whisper transcribes on your computer unless you choose Groq.
Services, and who chooses them
The first four services below can receive parts of a meeting, each only after you agree, using your own account or key. GitHub and Hugging Face receive nothing about your meetings. The last two are marked Coming: the app can't use them yet, so nothing goes to them.
In this beta you bring your own engine: your own key, Claude Code or Codex under your own account, or a model on your computer. Furrget doesn't run an AI engine for you.

Confidential meetings
Mark a meeting Confidential and only engines on your computer work on it: Whisper transcribes it, a local model writes, and nothing goes to a cloud service: not Groq, ElevenLabs, the checking service, or the cloud engines that are coming (Cloudflare Workers AI, OpenCode). Furr can't check it, so its points are marked Not checked. To make every new meeting Confidential, turn on Mark new meetings Confidential in Settings › Transcription. How Confidential works
What Furrget writes on your computer
- Your meetings folder, above. While you record, a recording takes about 350 MB for each hour, and the rest of a meeting (transcript, notes, minutes) is under 2 MB.
- The Whisper speech model, downloaded once while you set up transcription.
- Your keys, stored encrypted by your computer. Furrget never shows a whole key.
- Logs, in Settings › Diagnostics. Keys and your home folder are removed, and lines that can carry meeting text are cut, before a log is shown or copied.
- Furrget never deletes a meeting or its audio unless you ask. After notes, it compresses the recording without losing any sound, and it clears its own temporary files. Settings › General › Storage shows the space Furrget uses, frees working files, and deletes the audio of old meetings by hand or once a day. The daily rule is off until you turn it on.
Installing and updating
- The Mac app is signed and notarized by Apple.
- Updates ask first. A check downloads nothing, and a new version downloads only after you choose Download.
- The Download button on furrget.app sends you to the installer, served by Cloudflare or GitHub.
Report a security issue
If you find a security problem in the app or this site, email [email protected] with “Security” in the subject. Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it, and give us time to fix it before you share it publicly. Please don't attach real meeting recordings or transcripts. We'll write back to confirm we have it. We don't run a paid bug bounty.
When paid plans arrive
We plan paid plans with a Furrget account, transcription and an AI engine that Furrget runs in the cloud for you, and sync of notes and actions across your devices. You only use them if you choose a paid plan. Your Engine needs no account. When they arrive:
- Recording and transcription on your computer stay the default.
- Your Engine, the plan that runs on your computer, stays free.
- If you choose transcription in Furrget's cloud, your computer sends the audio only to be transcribed. It isn't kept after the transcript is done.
- Audio never syncs to your other devices, in any plan.
- Confidential meetings never reach Furrget's cloud, in any plan. Only engines on your computer work on them.
- The app asks before it sends anything to a new place, as it does today.
- Before any paid plan starts, this page will list every company that handles data for us and say where it is stored.
